According to Wikipedia, the 5 Whys is a questions-asking method used to explore the cause/effect relationships underlying a particular problem. The Ultimately, the goal of applying the 5 Whys method is to determine a root cause of a defect or problem, so that it can be effectively addressed. But what happens when the final answer is:

    Just because…


    I don’t know?

The thing is, if you ask why enough times you always reach one of these two answers. Either answer means that you have reached a fundamental assumption about life. You’ve reached a belief which the responder is unwilling or unable to articulate. You’ve reached a place where a myth is required.
